Organizations (platform admin)
Sign up a new organization, manage plans and status, reset an organization admin's password.
STMS can host several separate organizations (for example MKSSS, or another university's sports board). Each one sees only its own tournaments, institutes, players and users. The platform admin looks after the organizations themselves.
How a new organization gets started
- Self-service: on the login page, Create your workspace asks for the organization's name and its first admin's details. It starts on the Trial plan, and that person is logged in as its org admin.
- By the platform admin: Organizations → New organization. Enter the organization name, plan and first admin's name/email, then Create organization. A password is shown once; pass it on.
The new org admin then follows Getting started from step 1.
Managing an organization
Organizations is the platform overview: totals across the platform at the top, then one row per organization with its plan, status, and counts of users, directory institutes, tournaments, players, road races and runners, plus when someone there last did something. It shows numbers only. The platform login can't open an organization's tournaments, runners or other records; to work inside an organization, use its admin login. Click Manage to:
- change the Organization name;
- change the Plan (Trial, Free, Sponsored, Paid). This is for your records only; billing isn't automated.
- set it Active or Suspended. Suspending logs out all of that organization's users on their next click and blocks login until it's reactivated.
- keep notes;
- Reset password for any of its users (e.g. an org admin who's locked out). The new password is shown once.
- Add admin: give the organization an admin login (its first one, or another one). The password is generated and shown once, so pass it on to them.
